FEBRUARY 2021 AT THE ULTIMATE PLEASURE– A NOTE FROM THE OWNER:
Once again, its wonderful to have you visiting our site, as we enter into February 2021 here at The Ultimate Pleasure. Its customers like yourself, who support our small family owned business, that help us to survive, grow and thrive into the future, and for that, we are extremely grateful. I want to start by also thanking all our valued customers who purchased from our store, specifically over the past couple of months. I say this because we have experienced significant delays, with each of the various courier companies we use, who have been working hard to clear the massive volume of parcels received over the Christmas/New Year period. It has meant that our customers have had to wait longer than normal, for their orders to be delivered. For that reason, we want to send a special thank you out to them for their patience and understanding. Having said that, we have also seen a couple of unacceptable instances with the various courier companies, such as one failing to collect a couple of orders after several days, a couple of companies have failed to update the tracking details after collection, and there have been a few instances where deliveries have just taken an excessive amount of time, even being express posted. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure all our customers that we do not take these instances lightly, as we understand that it creates a negative experience on the purchase process, and creates a poor reflection on our business. Considering we are a business that prides ourselves on our customer service, we will not continue to accept this lack of efficiency and reliability by these courier companies. We are continually monitoring the performance, in line with any customer feedback received, on all the various courier companies we use, and will not hesitate to make changes where necessary, to ensure our customers receive their orders in a timely manner. Off the back of the non-collection instance from TNT, combined with their poor service and lack of following up, we have parted ways with their service, and will no longer use them moving forward. We will also continue to monitor the efficiency and reliability of InExpress, DHL, and Fastway, all of which have failed to provide the quality service we expect, over the past few weeks. There are still noted delays within the postal network, so we do ask for your patience and understanding in regards to the increased volume of postage each courier company is currently handling, and that we always aim to have your order delivered to you in a timely manner. The past couple of months have also highlighted to us that the operation of our business, which was successful and efficient since our foundation, is no longer sustainable. We have always operated as an “order on demand” business. What this means is that when we receive orders from customers, we compile a list of the products on these orders, and send a request off to our supplier at the end of each day. Once received from our supplier, we then forward them to our customers. Prior to COVID-19, this process only took 2 business days, and customers would receive their orders within 3 to 7 business days, depending on whether they paid for standard or express postage. Now, however, it is starting to take at least 3 business days to receive stock from our suppliers, plus then a further delay for the customer, after we send it out to them, due to the delays in the postal network. We understand this is no longer an efficient process, and as a result, we are now looking into obtaining some funding to house more stock on hand, so we can send out customer orders on the same day, or the day after at worst. Again, we would like to reassure our valued customers that customer service is our absolute number one priority, and we will do whatever is necessary to ensure our business continually improves and delivers excellence, moving forward. Watch this space over the coming months as we work on improving that efficiency. We will always look to communicate with our customers when there are excessive delays, however we do ask for your patience and understanding in the interim. Just a timely reminder to always check your junk and spam folders for any email communication that we may send you, that your email provider may have diverted away from your inbox.
